First UK Trappist Beer Released

Print
News: June 2018

The first Trappist ale to be brewed in the UK has been launched by an abbey in Leicestershire.

The new beer, called Tynt Meadow, is a bottle-conditioned, 7.4% ABV dark ale brewed at Mount Saint Bernard Abbey, near Coalville. It features English barley and hops.

The beer is named after the field on which the abbey community first established a church in the nineteenth century.
