Pub Planning Loophole Closed

Print
News: March 2017

Campaigners are celebrating the Government’s decision to close an important loophole in planning law that affects pubs.

The Government has agreed to support a House of Lords vote calling for a change to the law that allows pubs to be demolished or converted to other retail uses without applying for planning permission.

The Campaign for Real Ale, which has lobbied for this change, claims the move will enable communities to have a say in the future of their locals and help prevent pub closures.
