Heineken Buys Brasil Kirin

Dutch brewery Heineken has increased its stake in the South American beer market by buying Kirin’s holdings in Brazil.

The Japanese brewery is selling breweries and brands that include Eisenbahn, Baden Baden, Devassa and the mass-market Schin, making Heineken the second largest beer company in Brazil.

The deal is estimated to be worth around £560 million.
