Maris Otter Heads for Beer Festival

Print
News: February 2017

One of East Anglia’s iconic exports is to be showcased at this year’s National Winter Ales Festival.

The CAMRA event is being held this year in Norwich and local brewers and malt specialists are taking the opportunity to highlight the importance of Maris Otter barley. Considered by many brewers to be the best barley for beer production, the grain is grown in Norfolk and exported to more than twenty countries.

The Norfolk Brewhouse and the grain merchant H Banham Ltd – the guardian of Maris Otter – are creating a bar that will demonstrate to visitors the versatility and quality of this variety of barley. Beers on offer will include a beer from the Cervezas DouGall’s in Spain.

The CAMRA National Winter Ales Festival takes place 21–27 February.
