Big Beery Night for Charity

Print
News: October 2016

Two beer lovers have hit back at charity campaigns that encourage people to stop drinking by launching their own charity beer event.

Big Beery Night is the brainchild of Phil Hardy of Stoke-on-Trent beer retailer Otter’s Tears and Steve Bentall from the Beer O’clock Show podcast. The idea is to ask drinkers to donate the cost of their beer consumption on a single evening, with proceeds supporting Macmillan Cancer Care.

In 2015, the evening raised more than £3,000 but there are higher expectations for year’s event and the wider beer community is being asked for its support.

The event takes place on Friday, 11 November, and shops, bars or pubs that would like to get involved, or anyone requiring more information, can contact Steve at s.bentall@sky.com or check out the Beer O’clock Show website.
