CAMRA Consults on Future

Print
News: March 2016

The Campaign for Real Ale has launched a major consultation exercise to determine the future strategy and aims of the consumer organisation.

CAMRA’s 177,000 members are being asked – through surveys and meetings – to give their views on the way forward, in the face of a brewing industry that has changed markedly since the movement was founded in 1971.

The consultation raises the prospect of CAMRA abandoning its focus on cask-conditioned, traditional ale in favour of supporting good beer in general, or indeed of sharpening that focus at the expense of subsidiary issues such as pub heritage and traditional cider.
