Duvel’s Experimental Hop

News: March 2016

This year’s release of Duvel Tripel Hop features an as-yet unnamed hop.

Each year, Duvel Moortgat produces a special version of its renowned Duvel beer that, in addition to the two regular hops – Saaz and Styrian Golding – includes one further hop variety. In past years, this has been Amarillo, Citra, Sorachi Ace, Mosaic or Equinox.

The 2016 Tripel Hop (9.5% ABV) features a hop so far only known as Experimental Hop 291 that has been grown in the USA’s Yakima Valley.

The beer will be on sale in Booths supermarkets, Selfridges and other outlets, and later this year a six-pack featuring all versions of the beer produced to date will also be available.
