Brazilian Beer Wins International Beer Challenge

A beer from Brazil has been judged supreme champion beer at this year's International Beer Challenge in London.

After winning the trophy for best wheat beer, Baden Baden Witbier took the top honour, seeing off challenges from other trophy winners that came from BrewDog and Fyne Ales in the UK, Huyghe in Belgium, Edge Brewing in Australia and Samuel Adams in the USA. Baden Baden also took the trophy for best lager above 5% ABV with its Bock.

Overall brewer of the year in the competition was Beavertown, with continental awards presented to Septem in Greece, Edge Brewing in Australia, Bierland in Brazil and Deschutes in the USA. UK importer of the year was Branded Drinks and Marks & Spencer won the UK retailer of the year for the second year running.
