Goodnight Sweetheart Pub Gets Listed

Print
News: August 2015

The pub that featured prominently in the 1990s sitcom Goodnight Sweetheart has been listed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, following research by Historic England (formerly known as English Heritage).

The Royal Oak in Hoxton, London, built by Trumans in 1923, will now benefit from planning protection, along with a further twenty, previously overlooked, inter-war pubs – including five other former Trumans pubs.

Other pubs gaining listing status include The Brookhill Tavern and The Black Horse in Birmingham, The Gatehouse in Norwich and The Duke William in Stoke-on-Trent.
