Famous Nottingham Beer Name Revived

Print
News: May 2015

One of the Midlands' best-known historic beer names is set for a revival.

Home Ales began trading in the nineteenth century and closed in 1996, after being taken over by Scottish & Newcastle ten years earlier. The brewery site, on the outskirts of Nottingham, is now occupied by the local council but the right to use the beer name has been acquired by local businessmen Nick Whitehurst and Shaun Goode from owner Heineken UK.

Home's Robin Hood Pale Ale is to be brewed initially by Oldershaw Brewery in Grantham, but there are plans to take brewing back into Nottingham itself.
