Hawkshead's New Sour is Solar Powered

Print
News: April 2015

Cumbrian brewery Hawkshead has released its first sour beer, inspired by three galactic events.

The Berliner weisse-style beer was brewed on 20 March, the day of the solar eclipse and the spring equinox, which also saw a super moon (the occurrence of a full moon during the moon's closest approach to Earth).

Named Solar Sour, the 3.3% ABV pale, cloudy beer is said to have a lemon-citrus sharpness and will be on sale from mid-April in keg form. A damson version is also planned.
